Rumania

MB6V0: Fanlike aggregates of laminar crystals of Semseyite that are very well defined and bright. They are on a matrix of Galena, with very bright crystals of black Sphalerite.

Specimen size: 3 × 2.2 × 1.1 cm = 1.2” × 0.9” × 0.4”

Main crystal size: 0.6 × 0.5 cm = 0.2” × 0.2”

MF27S3: Rosette aggregates of very bright Semseyite crystals with very well defined faces and edges, which is rare for the species, and with very sharp crystals of Sphalerite and small coatings of Pyrite.

Specimen size: 8.3 × 6.7 × 3.3 cm = 3.3” × 2.6” × 1.3”

Main crystal size: 0.9 × 0.9 cm = 0.4” × 0.4”

ER76T8: Group of twinned crystals of Sphalerite with a dominant tetrahedron, very bright and on matrix, with small cuboctahedral crystals of Galena and with Quartz, Siderite and Pyrite, also crystallized.

Specimen size: 12 × 10.2 × 5.8 cm = 4.7” × 4.0” × 2.3”

Main crystal size: 1.7 × 1.3 cm = 0.7” × 0.5”

EQ14T8: Aggregate of rhombohedral crystals of Calcite with very marked curved faces and edges giving the so-called “saddle” shape. They are on matrix, with abundant “plumosite” (Boulangerite-Jamesonite) inclusions at the back of the sample.

EP14T8: Group of sharp tabular crystals of Barite, very transparent and bright and with small inclusions of Stibnite.
Baia Sprie, Baia Mare, Maramures  Rumania (±1980)

Specimen size: 7 × 5.2 × 3.5 cm = 2.8” × 2.0” × 1.4”

Main crystal size: 3.9 × 3 cm = 1.5” × 1.2”

EP47T8: Group of sharp tabular crystals of Barite, very transparent and bright and with zoned red inclusions of small crystals of Realgar.

EA48T8: Groups of flattened and curved rhombohedral crystals of Rhodochrosite. With crystals of Quartz and small white growths of Aragonite.

ED27T8: Botryoidal growths of small crystals of Rhodochrosite with an intense pink color and very bright, with brown globular growths of Siderite and crystals of Quartz.

MP46S3: Druse of rhombohedral crystals of Rhodochrosite. They are very deformed, with the so-called “saddle-shaped” habit generated by an intense curvature of faces and edges. With coatings of white Calcite and on Quartz matrix.

MQ67R8: Aggregate of lenticular crystals that have a very intense and uniform pink color. They are on matrix and are with groups of very clear and bright crystals of Quartz.

MF66S9: Very flattened rhombohedral crystals of Calcite. They have a lenticular habit and are white, very bright and show curious curvatures on their faces and edges, being implanted on a group of Quartz crystals and on Calcite matrix.

T86FS0: White, very acute sheaf-like aggregates of scalenohedral crystals of Calcite on a first generation of the same mineral that, in turn, partially coats a group of Quartz crystals. The sample is from an old mine now closed and abandoned.

Main crystal size: 4.2 × 2 cm = 1.7” × 0.8”

TC56H7: Group of very well defined tabular, hexagonal shaped, crystals. They are slightly pink and there are also a few iridescent crystals of Chalcopyrite. On the matrix, basically formed of fine Quartz crystals, there also are small crystals of Sphalerite and Pyrite.

ME26S9: Druse of very bright complex crystals of Sphalerite, partially coated by parallel growths of very flattened rhombohedral crystals of Calcite with a lenticular habit.

Specimen size: 8.5 × 8.4 × 4.8 cm = 3.3” × 3.3” × 1.9”

E97TS0: Group of tabular crystals of Barite. They are bright, transparent and have deep yellow color and are on matrix with small crystals of Quartz. A spectacular sample coming from an old mine now closed and abandoned.
Roata Mine, 230 Level, Cavnic, Maramures  Rumania (12/1995)

Specimen size: 12.7 × 9.3 × 5.7 cm = 5.0” × 3.7” × 2.2”

Main crystal size: 2.5 × 2 cm = 1.0” × 0.8”

MC69R3: Group of thick short prismatic crystals of Stibnite, with excellent terminations, typical of the Poiana Botizei mine, a locality that in its best times offered not too many samples but commonly of good quality.
With a label from the Joan Abella i Creus collection that we’ll send to the buyer.
Poiana Botizei Mine, Baiut, Maramures  Rumania (±1986)

Specimen size: 13.2 × 10.5 × 7.4 cm = 5.2” × 4.1” × 2.9”

Main crystal size: 2.5 × 1.7 cm = 1.0” × 0.7”

MP6P8: A super classic from a classic European locality. Crystals are trapezohedral, brownish and form the typical dense aggregates for which the locality is known.
Ocna de Fier, Banat Mountains, Caras-Severin County  Rumania

Specimen size: 9.8 × 6.7 × 7.8 cm = 3.9” × 2.6” × 3.1”

Main crystal size: 1.1 × 1 cm = 0.4” × 0.4”

EF68R3: Partially dendritic growths of very elongated and flattened crystals on matrix. A classic of Rumanian mineralogy.
Baia de Aries (Offenbánya), Apuseni mountains, Alba County, Transylvania  Rumania

Specimen size: 5.3 × 4 × 2.1 cm = 2.1” × 1.6” × 0.8”

ML49G5: Laminar crystal of considerable size and a good development, strategically grown on the top of a matrix in which the Rhodochrosite enhances.
The piece was from the J.F. Lanoë collection (num. 2376.01), and we give the label of this collection to the buyer.
Sacarîmb (Nagyág), Hunedoara County  Rumania (XIX Century)

Specimen size: 5.7 × 4.8 × 2.4 cm = 2.2” × 1.9” × 0.9”

Main crystal size: 1.2 × 0.9 cm = 0.5” × 0.4”

EJ82F6: Native Gold from Transylvania is a European classic. In this one a vein of small, well-developed Quartz crystals crosses the dark matrix. On the Quartz there are monometric crystals of very well-defined Gold.

T46BS0: Mossy aggregates of felted crystals of Boulangerite completely filling a parallel growth of flattened rhombohedral crystals of Calcite with well developed curvatures of their faces. The sample is from an old mine now closed and abandoned.

MA59H2: Two interlaced disks of lenticular crystals of Calcite. The snowy white color on the front turns to dark gray on the back due to Boulangerite inclusions.

TZ46Q1: Rosette growth of lenticular crystals formed by very flattened rhombohedra with curved edges. On a matrix of the same Calcite, with Pyrite. A classic from a closed mine.
Turt, Satu Mare, Maramures  Rumania (2002)

Specimen size: 6.8 × 5.2 × 3.6 cm = 2.7” × 2.0” × 1.4”

E6RC9: More brilliant than others, this Galena from Turt displays very well with its separate crystals of galena on the clean brownish Siderite all on the matrix formed of massive Chalcopyrite-Sphalerite.
