The Euro / US$ / Yen exchange rates are the official ones and we update them every week.
You can check the exchange rate details by placing your cursor over the price, or by clicking on it.

We have used this page to offer specimens that do not fully reach the strict criteria that Jordi uses for the ones shown on the other pages of the Fabre Minerals site. So it is less formal than the rest of the site, although Jordi will still keep an eye on it.

We will regularly add competitively priced specimens with all the data we normally provide: species, locality, date found, description and other relevant information. All this is so that clients can see interesting specimens at good prices.

The structure of the page aims to reflect that of the rest of the web site and to be fully linked with it, but it will have a rhythm of updates and form that is different from the other pages.

We hope that it will please you and that you will find specimens on it that are a good fit with your existing collection.

Chrysocolla

Chrysocolla

NA59T9

This is a Spanish novelty because in the Los Amigos Mine Chrysocolla wasn't mentioned before. We should also mention that the appearance of this Chrysocolla is very attractive as it isn’t just a crust as usual but it has nice forms covering what seem to be crystals of Quartz and probably Chalcedony. These nice forms together with their great color, generate what is, in our opinion, the best Chrysocolla found in Spain and nearly as fine as the nicer ones from other countries.
As usual when we offer unusual things like this, we will send a copy of the analysis to the customer.

Kosnarite with Zanazziite (manganoan) and Albite

TC11P7

On the same specimen there are two very rare species. Kosnarite in pseudo-octahedral, creamy crystals with very sharp and bright faces and edges. The Zanazziite, in very small crystals, has been carefully analyzed and the result is surprising: iron is nearly completely replaced by manganese (thus its pinkish shade), so we present it as manganoan Zanazziite. Matrix is Albite. We’ll send a copy of the analysis to the buyer.

One can see different crystals that have grown in various directions. To me it looks like it is the very complex crystallization that gives the specimen so many faces, which means that any movement creates numerous reflections. It is a very original floater with zones of smoky color and multi-colored reflection from its interior.

Barite with inclusions of Hematite and Dolomite

E91AC7

Cumbria, British Museum, Barite, these are all names that remind me of a splendid past. Jordi bought this one from the Behier collection but did not put it up on the web site as the base has a small ding. But given that you cannot see this defect when you display it and that it is such a nice specimen that displays well I think that it would look good in any collection.

As well as the history I like the fact that it has its old labels and that not only are the crystals transparent but that they have two colors, due, Jordi tells me, to the Hematite inclusions in certain areas which add the red tint.

An open gap in Calcite offers enough space for the growth of Quartz crystals and another pleochroic (different color, black or brown, depending of crystal position) mineral. We acquired the sample thinking it could be something very rare, a sulfide or a cobalt arsenate... As usually happens, the analysis send us back to reality: They are Goethite crystals. Beautiful, very unusual for the locality, but Goethite.

Pyromorphite.

NK36R2

From an unexpected find in an old lead mining area of Roman time where the Pyromorphites appeared previously, although with a different shape than this specimen. Its habit and color, very distinctive, make this find unmistakable. It has become a Spanish classic. This specimen comes from a first selection of the specimens when they were found.
